Kelso Picnicking

Kelso offers 17 picnic sites that can be reserved for your enjoyment, with many open spaces that are available on a first come first serve basis.   Each of the picnic sites and shelters are unique and offer different amenities. 

Before making a reservation please note the following: 

All reservations require a non-refundable reservation fee.  A permit will not be issued until such time as the fee is received.  Post dated cheques are NOT accepted.  The fee amount required varies depending upon whether you require a basic picnic site or picnic shelter.

The reservation form must be completed in full and forwarded to Kelso, along with the site reservation fee to confirm the booking.  Upon confirmation of the reservation a permit will be issued. 

A $10 administration fee applies to all cancellations and booking changes. 

3 weeks notice is required to be eligible for refund when cancelling a reservation.  The cancellation fee will be deducted from refund amount. 

The completed reservation form must identify the types of activities that are planned for the day.  Any special activities including bouncing castles, dunk tanks and set up of tents larger than 10 x 10 require proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2 million with Conservation Halton named as an additional insured for the day of the activity.  Failure to comply will result in dismantlement of any such items. 

Daily per person entrance fees apply to all persons entering the park as part of a picnic group. Park Fees.

You can prepay your entrance fee by purchasing a non-refundable picnic voucher.  Group picnic vouchers may be pre-purchased at a discounted rate.  A minimum purchase of 50 vouchers is required.  These vouchers will be couriered to you and MUST BE distributed PRIOR to your picnic date.  The vouchers must then be surrendered at the gatehouse upon arrival.  Anyone arriving without a picnic voucher is required to pay regular admission fees. 

We suggest booking your picnic site or picnic shelter well in advance as sites do book quickly.

Reservations can be made in advance by calling 905-878-5011 or by faxing your completed reservation form to 905-878-1619 or mailing it to 5234 Kelso Road, Milton, Ontario  L9T 2X7. 

Group Day Use

Before making a reservation please note the following: 

All Day use groups planning a day visit to Kelso must apply for a permit at least two weeks in advance. Request a Permit Online .

Groups must provide adequate adult supervision in accordance with the Conservation Halton Policy, requiring a minimum 1:10 adult child ratio and 1:4 for children 4 and under.

The reservation form must be completed in full and forwarded to Kelso.  Omit the camper and picnic fee sections for a day use permit request.  Upon confirmation of the reservation a permit will be issued. 

The completed reservation form must identify the types of activities and locations that are planned for the day.  Any special activities including bouncing castles, dunk tanks and set up of tents larger than 10’x10’, require proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2 million.  Failure to comply will result in dismantlement of any such items. 

If your groups will be swimming, you must report to the head lifeguard upon arrival at the beach area.
